Abstract
"Modell Deutschland," once admired worldwide, has lost much of its shine, due to a number ofinternal and external factors. This important and timely volume deals with the economic andpolitical pressures and challenges of globalization and is particularly concerned with their effecton social policy, labor markets, environmental policies and technological change. Dieter Dettke is foreign policy and security policy specialist and has published widely on these issues. He has been Executive Director of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation Washington Officesince 1985.
