Abstract
This book focuses on the demand, supply, key features and events that take place across the regions of Canada, the United States of America and Mexico. The diversity of socio-cultural, natural, and economic features within and between regions has situated all three regions in positions of prominence on the World Tourism Organization’s list of top international destinations.
The handbook is a fine contribution to the literature. Potentially, the Handbook may serve an onward purpose, stimulating research in topics mentioned superficially here as well as serving as a baseline study for future revisions.
David Fennell is the author of Ecotourism: An Introduction, Ecotourism Programme Planning and co-editor of Ecotourism Policy and Planning. Dr. Fennell is the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Ecotourism, and is an active member on editorial boards of many academic journals in tourism and leisure. He teaches ecotourism and outdoor recreation at Brock University, Canada.
True to its title, North America: A Tourism Handbook, serves its readers as a clear reference handbook providing a compendium of data from numerous sources.
