This book provides a state-of-the-art account of voice research and issues in clinical voice practice. The contributors are all voice experts and bring a range of international perspectives to the volume, which includes chapters focusing on Australia, Belgium, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, the UK and the USA. This is a pioneering work that brings together previously unpublished cutting-edge research and evaluations of clinical practice.

Modern approaches to voice rehabilitation are founded on research and theory, but they are tempered by and delivered in different cultural ecologies, meet varying needs, and are supported by different resources. The book contains 17 chapters from different areas of anatomy and therapeutic voice research in the world. They were written by some of the finest researchers our each area has to offer. This book is appropriate for researchers in the field for physician's otolaryngologist, speech language pathologist and other areas like psychology, linguistics, alternative medicine and voice teachers in order to understand more the research on voice disorders. Though it is technical, it offers extensive and actualized details to ensure clarity in the writing, while also educating to the reader on the particular topic.

Edwin Yiu obtained his PhD from the University of Queensland and is currently a professor in speech pathology with the Division of Speech & Hearing Sciences, The University of Hong Kong. He is also an Honorary and Visiting Professor at the University of Sydney. He has published more than 70 articles in international journals and presented more than 100 conference papers. He is on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Language and Communication Disorders, the International Journal of Speech Language Pathology, and the Asia Pacific Journal of Speech Language and Hearing.
