Schizophrenic disorders, of which at least five separate kinds are now recognised, remain difficult to diagnose and still harder to treat. This volume reviews the most important work published in the last year, with expert comment and analysis from two of the leading authorities in the field. The editors review the latest advances in our understanding of the biochemical basis of the disease, its detection and diagnosis, and its relationship to other co-existent mental illness.
