Abstract

This book highly illustrated text provides a comprehensive, practical and timely review of latest best practice in the management of shoulder and elbow trauma. The first part of the book begins with the shoulder and starts with the classification of proximal humeral fractures. The chapters into highly focused areas to make it easy for the reader to look up the exact fracture and the treatment required to manage it (e.g. Chapter 4: Open reduction and internal fixation of greater and lesser tuberosity fractures). Part one therefore contains chapters on the management of every possible injury from acute proximal humeral fractures to clavicle fractures, scapular fractures, and the management of proximal humeral malunions and non-unions. The second part of the book covers elbow trauma and again, the author recruited recognized leaders in the field to share their personal approaches to some of the most challenging fractures that orthopaedic surgeons must treat. It begins with an excellent chapter on the anatomy and surgical approaches, setting the stage for the following chapters.
