Abstract

This is the 1st edition of the book Donald School Manual of Practical Problems in Obstetrics. The text is comprehensive, updated as per the present day requirements in the subject of obstetrics. This is re-edited book which was originally written by Professor Ian Donald. In this edition of the book an effort is made to review literature and experience of experts Indian obstetricians towards pregnancy and labor. The book has 39 chapters. The first chapter deals with antenatal care and antepartum fetal surveillance. Chapter two provides a comprehensive description of first trimester examination and pregnancy confirmation. Subsequent chapters are dedicated to prenatal diagnosis, termination of pregnancy, teenaged and elderly gravida and bad obstetric history. Book further describes labor, associated conditions with labor, obstetric haemorrhage, pre and post maturity. Last part of the book deals with diet and exercise during pregnancy and prescribing drugs during pregnancy. A comprehensive index is given at last.
