The breakthrough text, Diagnosis and Treatment of Uveitis, has returned in another comprehensive installment, bringing ophthalmologists an updated, intensive look at the numerous causes and treatment methods of ocular inflammation. This second edition presents both immunologic fundamentals as they relate to uveitis and the practical approach to the diagnosis and treatment. Drs Foster and Vitale, along with a team of internationally recognized authors, have again collected all current, relevant literature and incorporated their own expertise and experience (35+ years in the world’s busiest uveitis practice) in treating these rare, uveitis-causing diseases. The work is encyclopedic in scope, and is considered the definitive text on the subject. Dr Foster has been considered by many to father a more aggressive management model for ocular inflammatory diseases, with the goal of “resetting” the immune system so that steroid-free (and eventually drug-free) remission is achieved.
