Abstract

This book is intended to provide a practical guide to interpretation of synovial diseases based on integrated assessment of arthroscopic findings, microscopic details and special techniques wherever needed. It is written for the pathologists, orthopedicians, arthroscopists and residents in these disciplines. The entire spectrum of disorders associated with the synovium, ranging from rare infections to tumours, pathology of various diseases of synovium and tumour like lesions have been covered along with relevant arthroscopic findings. Begins with introduction, followed by chapters on normal synovium, fluid, infective arthritis, crystal -induced synovitis, tumors and rheumatoid arthritis. Last chapter deals with histology related to arthropathy of enteropathic, amyloid, hemophilic. With more than 75 illustration and images, authors have illustrated almost all the diseases of the synovium with excellent colour photographs. Arthroscopic findings and the histopathological features of each entity makes it very handy to correlate. This book will be useful aid in day-to-day practice and for trainees who will find this book indispensable in their education.
