Abstract

This is the 1st edition of the book First Aid for Nurses. The text is comprehensive, updated as per the present day requirements in the subject of accidents and emergencies. This book provides basic knowledge and skill to prepare an individual to deal with accidents and emergencies. The book has 20 chapters. The first and second chapters deal with introduction, structure and body functions to provide understanding for injuries and emergencies. Subsequent two chapters are examination of patient and positioning of causality which provides a comprehensive description of initial patient management in emergencies with the help of well-illustrated diagrams in a user friendly language. Chapter 5 to 11 deal with shock, drowning, asphyxia, fractures and spinal injuries. Burns, poisoning, bleeding and rescue operations are described in subsequent chapters. Chapter 17th to 20th deal with nuclear warfare, chemical and biological warfare with disaster management. A comprehensive index is given at last.
