Abstract

This book is written to present various injection techniques for disorders of musculoskeletal system. The most important aspect of surgical practice is to do no harm. Injections for various conditions serve as pain therapies and the most important aspect of this is to inject at most appropriate sites either blinded or with the help of imaging techniques. This gives medicine at appropriate site, with less complication and at higher local dose preventing systemic side effects. This book is presented to facilitate surgeons to make decisions in practice and to reduce complications associated with this technique because of surgeon’s errors in injecting the drug which may be improper site, indications, diagnosis and dosage. The imaging techniques used and highlighted in this book are very useful for radiologists, orthopedic surgeons and anesthetists. These therapies are not a substitute for surgery, but useful in day-to-day practices to deal with patients who are not fit or reluctant to surgery or disease stage is such that there is no need for surgery. This therapy serves as bridge between conservative management and surgery.
